Simpson County Future Engineers, or SCFE, mission is to empower youth to establish their natural skills and talents, excel in education, and cultivate strong leadership skills in Rural America. As a result, participants will develop positive social skills, increase self-worth, and make vigorous lifestyle choices. SCFE envisions a community in which youth experience empowering relationships and community networking opportunities that will enhance decision making and stimulate growth as community leaders.

SCFE goals are 1) To provide a safe and enriching environment for youth ages 4th -8th grade 2) To encourage youth to set high educational standards and preparation for science, math, and technology with emphasis on future employment; and 3) To encourage and teach the importance of developing a future life plan.

Throughout the year, participants will design, build, program and compete with robots designed to complete a variety of tasks ranging from simple to complex. Twice each year Mississippi Robotics  organizes a state-wide robotics competition called Rural Robotics Competition. This event gives rural students the opportunity to be challenged in building, programming, and driving a robot for competition.

SCFE offers many benefits to the community. Local students will have the chance to learn and develop many new skills. They will be learning not only engineering and design skills, but will also be developing leadership, business, public speaking, coaching, and communication skills. We are looking to provide these students the necessary skills to become the next leaders in our community and beyond.

Sponsorship can take many forms: access to machinery that we would otherwise be unable to afford or use, donation of materials or services, mentorship and monetary donations. We are a 501(c)(3), which allows you to make tax-deductible contributions to our team.
