Michoud Visit

Mississippi NASA Space Grant & Mississippi Robotics has arranged a tour of the NASA Space Assembly Facility at Michoud. The visit will be Tue May 30th from 9am – 11:30am.  The tour is for STEM and Workforce adults and some high school and college students.  The total number of people that can tour is 25.  We have been asked to arrive around 8:30am.   There is no cost for the tour but you will need to cover your own expenses getting there and returning.

This is a very rare opportunity to tour Michoud.  Michoud Assembly Facility is an 832-acre manufacturing complex owned by NASA. The address is:  13800 Old Gentilly Road, New Orleans, LA 70129.

You MUST sign up here by Monday May 22, 2023 and all persons attending must be a US citizen and sign up separate. 

Please remember your original, hard copy, state-issued, driver’s license (or student ID, if no license), or passport. ID is required to enter Michoud.

Michoud Site Rules

  • Participants are responsible for travel to and from MAF (13800 Old Gentilly Road, New Orleans, LA 70129).

  • Arrive at MAF at 8:40 am. The tour will last 2 to 2.5 hours.

  • Adults must present a hard copy of a state-issued driver’s license, ID or passport. Students without gov’t issued ID may use their school ID.

  • Dress Code: No open-toe shoes, No high heels over 2 inches, No shorts, No sleeveless shirts, No skirts, No backpacks

  • No food or drinks in the factory.

  • Photography is strictly prohibited in the factory.

  • Only those registered for the tour will be allowed into the facility (IDs checked before entry).

  • Deadline to register is May 22, 2023.
